I started this blog to share my experience in my time as a field based consultant/sales representative and provide beneficial content for others in the same industry! I have spent several years on the road and in different jobs and companies. I have helped many other people start their sales careers and constantly provide advice when requested about my job duties, travel habits and tips for people who are constantly working on the road.
I am in my mid-twenties and have been working in sales for over 5 years now. I have traveled to almost every state in the US and several other countries in my work and I’ve been a consultant for industrial companies, software, operation management and currently do all three within one company. I currently cover a large territory in the United States.
I graduated from a university with a degree in Information Technology, with a focus in Business Communications and I currently live literally on the road, as I found that spending hard-earned money on rent for a house that I didn’t get to enjoy, was just plain stupid.
I will remain anonymous due to the nature of my business as well as the content that I share, for fear of infraction into my own career. After all, I am just getting started too!
The purpose of this blog is to share experiences, insight, knowledge with other consultants or sales representatives who spend 90% of their time in the field. I will feature relevant articles, travel tips, sales management advice and straight up opinions that I have come to form in my time. I promise to avoid the “BuzzFeed” type articles that give you lists upon lists of stuff that is maybe only 10% relevant.
This isn’t a “how to sell” checklist because I think those are bullshit anyways and I don’t want to sit here and act like I am the best, because I’m not. But I do want to provide content that will benefit you in your career, and help you avoid mistakes that I have made personally! Enjoy!
